RUBS utility billing
On a master-metered building, you pay the whole water, sewer and trash bill. A ratio utility billing system (RUBS) splits that bill among your tenants by a set formula, such as unit size or number of occupants. We set it up and run it every month.
How you pay
A flat monthly fee per unit.
Set up front, so you know your cost before you sign. You'll get pricing with your invite when RUBS billing opens.
How it works
- Who it's for: buildings where one meter or one account serves many units
- Audit first: we check your utility bills before billing anyone, so tenants only pay their share of correct charges
- Every month: we calculate each tenant's share and send you the charges to add to rent
- Where: Washington outside Seattle. Seattle has its own third-party billing rules and doesn't allow RUBS for electricity
Already on our audit list?
RUBS works best after an audit, so we'll offer it to audit clients with master-metered buildings first. You can sign up for both.
Reserve your RUBS spot
